Riley’s bio
As an omnivore devouring languages, histories, high and low poetry,
Barbara was a freelance editor and writer for well over half her life until one day, she wasn’t.
Words were only ever about something; She wanted the original experience.
Paradoxically, for years, she copied paintings from the hundreds of books in her library– Korean Modernism, Classical Chinese landscapes, and Japanese Zenga–stroke after stroke.
Black ink, blank paper, and an infinite space between breaths to work in–such a brilliant possibility.
The scent of ink was, and still is, intoxicating.
